Crowdfunding seems to be a good source for seed investment in start ups. There are new platforms that are gaining momentum, and it is exciting to see that people who were not involved in this field before, can now participate in building new successful innovations.
For those who are not yet convinced about the fit of crowdfunding and VC, Bijan Sabet makes a point by going back to basics and emphasizing the always true questions about the the validity and promise of the company. Not about the source of seed funding.
Bijan Sabet: “To me, asking (and caring) about who backed your startup during the seed stage is a bit like asking which college did you graduate from or what was your GPA in undergrad.
It won’t impact future financing. “

I have learned that I need to take into account that the time frame for finalizing funding can and will be longer than I would like it to be. It is important to be aware in every stage of delay causes, and be available to push and help the parties.
